The Christmas Spirit
Everyone's favorite Banned From A Santa Monica Public Park Nativity Scene found a new home in front of an office park. It's no wonder, as this version has Joseph as a headless nude eunuch. Though, that would explain why he was so ready to believe the whole virgin birth thing.

Some Animals Do Things When It's Hot, Some Don't
Exactly what you think is going on is going on here.
Favorite sign ever. So far. Mostly.
A woman exclaimed that this animal is pregnant. I say, take a closer look at the photo.
Too hot.
Also, too hot.
Not as hot.
Just about to pee everywhere.
Itchy. The End.

Romney/Ryan
I've been trying to figure out what it is about Romney/Ryan that's so familiar. Is it that they look like they're brothers or father and son or... I've got it: they're that gay couple that has the same hair style, the same blue blazer, the same striped button up with no tie, the same American flag lapel pin on the left, the same gazing into a full head of hair like he's looking into a mirror loving eyes. I know that's offensive to gays but I think we've all known that sort of couple. And that sort of couple is currently running for president. It's about time.

Diamond Jubilee
Here we see the Queen out amongst her people. She really is shorter than you'd think.
And then this is her in more formal attire. Though, apparently doing a little bit of black hands. Which is surprising but she is from the older generation so I guess we'll let it pass.

1992
I'm watching the VH1 special "Hip Hop and the LA Riots."
And if you look real close...
...you'll see that young black men in the 90s were totes rockin' the Minnie Pearl leave-the-price-tag-on-your-hat style.
Take that, Reference Levels.

Kayaking Santa Cruz
While taking the ferry back from a cave kayaking trip on Santa Cruz Island on December 23rd, an hour out of Ventura Harbor, CA we came across two pods of Orca. Our guide said that it was the most he'd seen in 24 years of guiding. Today, the LA Times published an article that said that spotting Orca is a rare occurrence and that the two families had been spotted off of the Palos Verdes Peninsula this weekend and had been seen in Ventura previously. A priori my shot below is one of the Killer Whales that they were writing about.
This was my first wild Orca. I like him.
That section of the water that looks like it's on fire, is a humpback whale exhaling via his tiny grey sliver.
Santa Cruz cave kayaking was the goal of the trip and so here's that perspective.
This Sea Lion winked at me.
Posthumous King Jung Il sighting on the ferry ride over.
That's me.
